About The Event
Two of Europe's leading exponents of Celtic knotwork meet to discuss their work. Welshman Sean Parry is the founder of the artists cooperative Northern Fire. He is inspired by the ancient cultures and artwork of Northern Europe. Sean Fitzgerald is famous for his intricate knotwork renditions of Irish myths.
Part 1 on Friday: The artists will discuss how they became almost obsessed with how the Celts left their marks in rock carvings all over Europe right through to the incredibly intricate works of monks in religious texts, especially from Ireland.
Part 2 on Saturday: Sean and Sean will debate if there was a natural artistic progression during the Viking era, or whether the Vikings copied Celtic art forms.
The artists will be available for signing artworks and photo opportunities.
